FAQ: What should my Seachem Pristine™ look like and what kind of seal should it have?

Product Appearance

Pristine™ is a clear liquid with no specks or solids.

Bottle Appearance

Pristine™ should be in a white bottle with the "diagonal swoop" label that you see below:

There are no older versions of this bottle on the market.  If you are unsure whether you are in possession of a genuine Seachem® product, feel free to contact Seachem Technical Support (support@seachem.com) with a photo of your bottle and the 5-digit lot number that should be stamped on the bottle.

Product Seal

Pristine™ is now sold with a safety seal. Some older lots of pristine (with a manufacture date of before 2020) may have an air seal, but not a safety seal.  This means that a product may either have a pressure paper seal over the opening to improve the airtightness of the bottle, or an aluminum seal.  The paper seal is sometimes pulled loose by the action of opening the bottle cap, and may be found inside the bottle cap instead of on the bottle opening.
