FAQ: Can I use Seachem Acid Buffer™ in a tank where I'm keeping ______?

Possibly.  Acid Buffer™ is exclusively intended for freshwater tanks and not every type of aquarium fish is suited to the range of pHs which Acid Buffer™ can be used to create. Research your fish to know what pH they would prefer.  Additionally, many fish, plants, and invertebrates are stressed by sudden high-percentage water changes and shifts in water parameters.  We recommend to alter pH slowly and keep water changes to 30% of the tank or less. More sensitive tank inhabitants will do better with smaller, more frequent water changes and slower alterations of water parameters.

Acid Buffer™ is not harmful to plants, and is our recommended buffer for use in planted tanks.

The composition of Acid Buffer™ is not directly harmful to saltwater fish, but these environments rarely, if ever, experience an issue with high pH that cannot immediately be resolved by decreasing the dose of alkalinity supplement.
