FAQ: Do I need to turn off my ozone or UV filter when using aquavitro remediation™?

The UV sterilizers and/or ozone should be kept off for at least 24 hours when dosing the tank with remediation™.  UV sterilizers and ozone filters are designed to kill and break down any living organism that passes through them, including beneficial bacteria.  

Aquarium lights do not count as sterilizers.  A UV sterilizer is a specialized piece of equipment that is designed specifically to kill off floating parasites, algae, and bacteria.  It is extremely unlikely that you would have a UV sterilizer without knowing about it.
