FAQ: Will Seachem Reef Strontium™ affect my alkalinity, pH, magnesium, calcium, or other major water parameters?

Reef Strontium™ exclusively increases  strontium - it does not contain buffers or minerals in high enough quantities to impact pH, alkalinity, magnesium, or calcium in any way.  However, keep in mind that saltwater parameters are maintained in careful balance with each other.  Altering any one parameter too drastically or too suddenly can throw other parameters out of balance.  In the case of Reef Strontium™, strontium levels in the aquarium are typically quite low, and an overdose can increase strontium levels far beyond what is recommended.
