FAQ: Can I use Seachem Reef Trace™ on things that are not a reef aquarium?

Reef Trace™ hasn't been FDA approved for use in the production of food for humans or terrestrial animals, and we haven't tested it in applications outside of the aquarium. We will not be able to speculate on how Reef Trace™ will work in non-aquarium applications for this very reason.

With regards to using Reef Trace™ in a freshwater or brackish system, the components of Reef Trace™ are not directly dangerous to freshwater or brackish creatures, but they are unlikely to be utilized by these tank inhabitants in the same way they are utilized in a  reef aquarium.  To supplement nutrients for fish, Seachem® recommends Nourish™.
