FAQ: Can I use Seachem® products on an aquaponics / hydroponics system?

Unfortunately, hydroponics and aquaponics fall into a nebulous middle zone between a hobbyist aquarium and a garden.  In order for a company to legally recommend that their products be used in the production of food for humans, that company's products must be FDA approved for that application.  No Seachem® products have been FDA approved for use in the production of food for humans or terrestrial animals, and we haven't tested them in applications outside of the aquarium or pond environment, so we quite literally cannot recommend that they be used in that application.
