FAQ: Will Seachem Reef Buffer™ affect my pH, alkalinity (KH), calcium, magnesium, or any other major water parameter?

Reef Buffer™ is designed to raise the alkalinity and pH of the system, so these two parameters will definitely change when you add it to a system.  Saltwater chemistry is complicated, and often raising the alkalinity of the system will cause the calcium level to fall if it is not done carefully.  Reef Buffer™ should not alter any other major water parameters in the system though.
