FAQ: Will Seachem Reef Advantage Magnesium™ affect my alkalinity, pH, calcium, or other major water parameters?

Reef Advantage Magnesium™ exclusively increases magnesium, and does not contain components intended to alter other water parameters.  However, keep in mind that saltwater parameters are maintained in careful balance with each other.  Altering any one parameter too drastically or too suddenly can throw other parameters out of balance.  In the case of Reef Advantage Magnesium™, maintaining proper magnesium levels allows for the upkeep of higher concentrations of calcium and alkalinity than would otherwise be possible.
