Possibly. Flourish Trace™ is exclusively intended for freshwater planted tanks and not every type of aquarium fish is suited to this type of environment. Research your fish to know what kind of aquarium environment they prefer. Additionally, many fish, plants, and invertebrates are stressed by sudden high-percentage water changes and shifts in water parameters. We recommend to alter nutrient levels slowly (do not overdose this product) and keep water changes to 30% of the tank or less. More sensitive tank inhabitants will do better with smaller, more frequent water changes and slower alterations of water parameters.
A note about copper:
Copper has a bad reputation for building up in aquariums to the point of harming delicate invertebrates like shrimp and snails. This reputation comes from the widespread use of copper-based medications as well as the occasional use of copper plumbing in older houses. While it is true that high levels of metals like copper can be extremely stressful or even deadly to invertebrates, these same metals are absolutely essential to invertebrate and plant health in low concentrations. That is why there is copper included in both Flourish® and Flourish Trace™ - it is necessary for the health of plants, fish, and even invertebrates. It is nearly impossible to overdose a tank on copper through use of Flourish® products alone - numerous gross overdoses over an extended period of time would be needed to accomplish this.
