It certainly is. An overdose of Tanganyika Buffer™ can result in a sudden and stressful shift in pH and KH. If pH or KH of the water is still too low despite repeated additions of a buffer like Tanganyika Buffer™, it is likely that there is a high concentration of acids in the aquarium that are depressing the pH and KH. We recommend to carry out water changes to dilute the organic acids that have built up in the system or continue small daily doses until the pH and KH rises your desired level.
