FAQ: Will Seachem Gold Basics™ affect my pH, GH, or KH?

Yes!  Gold Basics™ is intended to alter the pH and will raise the buffer concentration in your aquarium.  This raises the alkalinity of the water, which your water test may report as a rise in KH.  Gold Basics™ will also soften water by precipitating minerals, so you may see a noticeable drop in GH when using this product.
