Possibly. Cichlid Lake Salt™ is specifically intended to mimic the natural mineral environment of the African rift lakes. If your fish come from these lakes, then Cichlid Lake Salt™ can be used to establish their natural water parameters. While the minerals in Cichlid Lake Salt™ are nontoxic for fish that are not from these lakes, we do not have dosing instructions for using this product to establish ideal water parameters for other environments.
Additionally, many fish, plants, and invertebrates are stressed by sudden high-percentage water changes and shifts in water parameters. We recommend to alter GH slowly and keep water changes to 30% of the tank or less. More sensitive tank inhabitants will do better with smaller, more frequent water changes and slower alterations of water parameters.
Cichlid Lake Salt™ Compatibility Guide
Green: This product is safe for these tank inhabitants. Take care to avoid sudden large shifts in water parameters within the tank, and review the dosing instructions carefully to avoid improper dosing.

Red: This product is either notably stressful or utterly unsuitable for these tank inhabitants. It would be best to opt for a different product if possible. Click tank inhabitant name for alternate products.
